Royal Advice

Junior Achievement of Utah had royalty present, during their JA Entrepreneurship event at West High School, in Salt Lake City. Ms. America 2016, Julie Harman, who is also the owner of High Style Company in Salt Lake City, spoke to the students in Mr. Tua'one's marketing class, covering topics such as effort, networking and mentorship.

"You can't change the past but you can influence your future," Julie told the students. "You are the future."

She continued with informative stories relating to her entrepreneurship experiences and what she learned during her two decades of being a businesswoman. She mentioned the importance of working to make dreams come true and that networking and opportunities should be approached with gratitude.

Julie inspired the young men and women with her stories of how she has conquered the challenges she has had to face as an entrepreneur. The students were then prompted to identify their skills, and to ask themselves what inspires them to succeed and what is it that they want to create.

One inspirational piece of advice Julie mentioned was the importance of having a mentor. "Surrounding yourself with people who are experts in the things you are passionate about is important," she said.
