Junior Achievement of Hawaiʻi is now recruiting volunteers for the 2026–27 school year on Oʻahu!

Our classroom volunteers help bring learning to life by sharing their real-world experiences with students while teaching important skills in financial literacy, career readiness, and entrepreneurship. Whether you work in banking, hospitality, healthcare, technology, small business—or any other field—your experiences can help students see how what they’re learning today connects to their future.

No Teaching Experience? No Problem!

You do not need to be a teacher or have classroom experience to volunteer with JA.

Junior Achievement provides everything you need, including all lesson materials, a step-by-step teaching guide with scripts and discussion starters, training, and support from JA staff before you enter the classroom.

If you’re enthusiastic, dependable, and enjoy working with students, you can be a great JA volunteer. Community members from all industries and backgrounds are welcome.

What Is the Time Commitment?

JA volunteering is designed to be a flexible, short-term commitment that can fit into a busy work schedule.

Volunteers receive approximately 30 minutes of orientation and training and should plan for about 20 minutes of preparation for each lesson. Elementary programs typically consist of five 30–45 minute sessions, while middle and high school programs generally include 5–12 sessions of approximately 45 minutes each.

Many of our teachers also offer flexible scheduling options, including opportunities to complete multiple lessons in one visit or over just a few days.

Schools across Oʻahu are currently looking for volunteers for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters, with opportunities available at a variety of grade levels and locations.
